Band Hike Inc. ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what your rights are.
01What we collect
Account information (name, email, country, target band), test responses and progress data, payment info processed by our payment partners (we don't store card numbers), and standard usage telemetry (pages visited, features used).
02Why we collect it
To deliver the service — score your essays, generate band predictions, personalise practice — to bill you for paid plans, to send you product updates you opt into, and to improve the product.
03Who we share it with
Sub-processors: Stripe (payments), AWS (hosting), Mixpanel (anonymised analytics), and OpenAI / Anthropic (AI scoring — your responses are sent for evaluation and are not used to train their models). We don't sell your data. Ever.
04How long we keep it
Account data: as long as your account is active, plus 12 months. Test responses: 24 months unless you delete them. Payment records: 7 years (legal requirement).
05Your rights
Access, correct, port, or delete your data. Email privacy@bandhike.com and we respond within 30 days. EU/UK residents have additional rights under GDPR.
06Cookies
We use strictly-necessary cookies (login, security), preference cookies (UI choices), and opt-in analytics cookies. Manage these from the cookie banner or your account settings.
07Children
Band Hike is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe we have, contact us and we'll delete it.
